I just looked at my ten-year birthday journal and realized that was well over a year ago.  I wonder if anybody still follows me!  I'm really sorry I haven't been active in a few years.  It's hard to believe, really, I went from community volunteer to idle account in a manner of months - but that's just how life goes.

I have had 3 separate jobs in the last two years.  I worked at my alma mater from 2007-2012, and had a 10-month stint at an internet security company - and now I work for a company that runs a search engine and an ad platform.

In that time I was also part of a professional choir, though I had to leave it also due to life.  I moved many miles away from where I used to life in order to take my new job, and couldn't handle the driving for choir rehearsals and performances.  It was a similar story with why I dropped off of DeviantART - I tried lurking, but what I really enjoyed about this site was being balls deep in the community, and I just don't have the resources to dedicate to it any longer.

I miss you all greatly, and I miss the old days of living on the chat network and the forums.  I miss my time being harranged by fourteenthstar (though I guess that hasn't really stopped, has it? ;) ) and serving with the Community Volunteer team.  Thems was good days, they was.  But as life moves on, so too priorities.  I have left organizations on unhappy terms (my alma mater, for one), but I did not part from this deviant community with anything but love in my heart.

This journal may be up for a long time - or I may end up finding the resources to reintegrate into the community.  It's far different now than it was when I took my leave, but at its core it's still a community dedicated to the appreciation and sanctity of art in all its forms.  I congratulate those who have striven to make this place what it is, damn near a household name, with millions of users and millions of pieces of great art (and a few not so great pieces - not everyone is a professional, that's what makes this place so awesome!) .

Keep up the good work.  Peace out.

(And hey, that Facebook link does work last I checked - feel free to keep up with me there.  Just send me a message first so I know who you are!)

My deviantART account is nearly old enough to attend middle school.

... Nothing makes you feel old like that.

So I remember the day I signed up like it was yesterday.  The site was dark and difficult to navigate, and the community was small.  Ten years later, and dA has morphed into an iconic pillar of the art community, recognized world-wide.

Congrats dA.  It's been an honor being a part of you.

Ten years...

2 min read

Hey all.

Coming up on my 10th dAnniversary.

It's a bit weird.

Hope your lives are going well?  I'm sorry I kinda left.  I just don't have the drive to art anymore, and don't have time to engage in the community anymore.

Show me something amazing!  Tell me something you're doing.  I miss you all.

So I went to my first Pride Parade/Festival this past weekend, it was amazing.  Loved every minute.  So much excitement and joy and pride, such an amazing community to be a part of.

Also, watch this video.

It will break your heart, and hopefully if you're on the fence for whether or not to support equal rights, it will knock you off of it.

Anyway.  If you're still alive, holla.

Actually the rainbows was just to catch your attention.

SO IT'S ALMOST COMIC CON TIME.

This means a few things.  Many people will be visiting SD.  This also means that it's about high time to HAVE A FREAKING PARTY.

Maybe rainbows should be involved.  I dunno.  I feel like it's my gay duty to provide rainbows.  I'm just not a very rainbow-y person (don't let my journal fool you).

And if someone would be so kind as to hand me some inspiration for art?  I'd love to make some art but have NO inspiration.  Any ideas?

Anyway, check out SanDiego-dA or dASoCal - either one has a journal up about a San Diego Devmeet around Comic Con time.  Let's do this!!!

Also, if you do add me on Facebook, for the love of God introduce yourself, I don't add every random person who sends me a friend request aight? :flirty:  I've had 10 strangers add me in the past two weeks.
